The musician, from Framlingham, made schoolgirl Abigail Fleming’s last wish come true by visiting her bedside to play her favourite songs.

The intimate gig was among the 14-year-old’s wishes before losing her battle with cancer at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, Sheffield.

Sheeran kept private the kind gesture, which saw him fly from Paris to London before catching a train to Sheffield. Abigail’s parents wanted to publicly thank the 21-year-old, calling him “a complete gentleman."

I went to the Hollywood Palladium on Tuesday night to check out fellow Brits Ed Sheeran and Snow Patrol. I hadn't seen Ed Sheeran live before but have admired his music from across the pond. When we arrived at the venue, I was told Sheeran had gone on earlier than he was billed and I wasn't able to shoot the first three songs so we hurried into the venue to see him play his last 3 songs. He really blew my mind on stage. Sheeran is a one-man-band with serious lyrical flow. He takes on a bit of UK garage, indie rock, and builds songs in layers. He built up his songs one piece at a time, looping guitar rhythms, percussive sounds made by beating on his guitar, and vocal bits until he’d made an impromptu track that sounded amazing. If you haven't seen Sheeran before, you are in a for a show. Let's hope he comes back to LA again soon!

Is Ed Sheeran joining One Direction?

Niall Horan of One Direction said if they had anyone new join the band it would be Ed Sheeran... but would he be interested in joining 1D?

Ed tells Cambio, "I think if I didn't play guitar, I was a little bit slimmer, I could dance and I didn't write songs... then, yes I'd probably join them."
