If you remember while Ed was in NYC he was quite sickly, but those who reviwed the concert still commented on how spectacular his performance was. Ed was completely healthy when in played the 9:30 club in Washington, DC. So you can imagine how incredible his performance was...
"His set was polished, but it also left room for spontaneity and audience participation. Sheeran made a point to get the audience involved with call-and-response singing battles, splitting the room down the middle in “You Need Me.” The crowd got loud as they contributed harmonies to Sheeran’s vocals in “Give Me Love,” but also fell nearly silent during his a capella performance of “Wayfaring Stranger.” Per his request, the room fell quiet enough to allow Sheeran to complete the song without the aid of a microphone. That’s no small feat for a sold out show, but it’s nothing this experienced entertainer couldn’t handle."
