Ed's First Album
Ed’s first album,
Ed Sheeran, which features 13 songs, was recorded at the Din Studio, Limehouse, London between October 2005 and February 2006.
Ed wrote and recorded most of the songs when he was 14.
The album was produced by Julian Simmons, who had recently finished working with The Guillemots on songs for their first EP.
Ed sings and plays acoustic and electric guitar on the album. Jonny Bridgwood plays double bass, Jack Pollitt drums, Fiona Brice violin and Helen Rathbone cello.
Ed’s cousin, the Irish singer-songwriter Laura Sheeran, sings and plays piano on the album, and another cousin, Hannah Sheeran sings some of the backing vocals and plays the clarinet.
Another of Ed’s cousins, Alonestar, raps on one of the tracks.
The CD has a booklet with lyrics and photos of the recording sessions.
The artwork for the album and booklet were done by the Bristol-based street artist Graham Dews (aka Paris)
